The route the last two days was
West Albuquerque to East Albuquerque and
East Albuquerque to Cedar Crest
The ride from west Albuquerque started from the Casino 66. This picture was taken from my room on the 6th floor. The top of the hill you can see in the distance is 5 miles away.
After leaving the hotel and crossing over I-40 there is an old Parker through truss bridge
View of Albuquerque, New Mexico
The Rio Grande
Monday evening I stayed with a Warmshowers.org host.Tuesday on the way out of Albuquerque I stopped for a bagel and a cup of coffee
Then on the way out of town a couple of signs indicating I was going in the correct direction
Then there were a couple of road signs I didn't understand
The following two photos are by Devilstocksoup pictures are on Wikipedia and free to copy
You ask why did I take a picture of the rumble strip on the side of the road.
Well click on the link : rumble strip
Then I had a long climb so no pictures. I stayed in a small cabin in a campground just north of Cedar Crest
You will note I'm back into the altitude where there are large pines and cedars.
Been there
ReplyDeleteI love the rumble strip music.
ReplyDeleteVery nifty to have a Route 66 Cycling sign. And, the rumble strip music may make it worth a drive over there.
ReplyDeleteThe musical rumble strips might lead you to think that folks in NM have a lot of time on their hands.
