Today's ride was from Gallup, NM over the Continental Divide to Grants, NM
The ride today was another fun ride. I had a 10-15 mph tailwind most of the day. The road conditions were wet at the start because there were a few heavy downpours during the night.
Looking down the road you can see the hills I need to climb
The scenery looks a little like Sedona, AZ
At this point I had to get back on Interstate 40 and start climbing. The road was not steep but several miles of climbing. At the top of the hill route 66 exited from the interstate. There was a sign about the continental divide. From this point there was 38 miles of a slight downgrade or flat road WITH a 10-15 mph tailwind.
There are several old sign from when Route 66 was the road to travel. This sign in Grants is all that remains, the building is long gone.
Hurrah for tailwinds! Nice photos.
