Today's ride Claremont to Rialto
Last night I stayed with a Warmshowers.org host Carole and Win Aldrich.

They are a great host and have a lovely home. I left their fine home this morning and headed to Molly's Super in Upland. Along the way is a statue Madonna of the trail
I then headed to breakfast to meet some friends

At Molly's Super they have information in their menus about sharing your bread. At the front door is this information placard
There is a bike path called Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail The end points: Claremont Blvd. Claremont and N. Cactus Ave. Rialto which get cyclists off surface streets and away from traffic noise. It is OK for a slow casual ride but it crosses many busy streets so not to good if you are on a road bike trying to get in a fast ride.

I exited the path at Hermosa in Alta Loma, Ca to ride past my old house on Victoria Ave. Then over to Haven and back to the path.

Along the path I exited the path to go to the restroom. In there a gentleman said aren't you Bob? I said yes and asked who he was. It was Fred Delgado, someone I worked with while at General Dynamics. We also rode bicycles together back then. Such a small world
Back on the bike path a lady named Coral and I started riding together for about 10 miles. She lives in Rancho Cucamonga and works for Direct TV. She has 4 kids, the oldest 22. She said she rides the path several days a week for stress relief. It sure makes the time go by fast when you ride and talk with someone

I had reservations at the Wigwam Motel. One of three similar motels
My Wigwam for the night
The "share your toast" idea is excellent, but it is soooo unlike a cyclist to give up food.
ReplyDeleteWigwam is cool! As was running into someone you knew from there.
