Wednesday 8 July

Wednesday. Once the bike was loaded I was planning on going the 14 miles to Forks and have breakfast but the Hungry Bear was open and dinner last night was good so I decided to eat breakfast there. The pancake was as large as the plate, the eggs done just right and very good coffee.

Now, the going was a little slow on a full stomach. Thankfully the road was downhill for a couple of miles. There was a drop of about 400 feet in 2.5 miles. A great way to start the day. The next town is Forks which has become famous because of a TV series Twilight.

There are lots of folwers along the way. The first few are called Fox Glove and are in several different colors. The first picture the group of flowers is about 2 feet tall, the whole plant is 5 to 6 feet tall. But the height of the plant varies but the size and shape of the buds is the same

not sure what these plants are called

Todays ride brought me back to the coast and into the Olympic National Park

This tree is called Big Cedar. Note my bike at the base.

I spent the night in the Kalaloch NP Campground
