Today's route was from Raymond, IL to Springfield, IL
The ride today was almost directly north. And as luck would have it the wind was directly from the north, maybe 10-15. But that is OK, no rain, good scenery, good road, and I will be meeting up with Maria on Sunday when I get to the End of Route 66 in Chicago.
Corn fields.
More corn fields. In a few weeks all you will be able to see is the corn stalks and not the trees in the background.

For those that don't ride, these posts are setup along bicycle paths with bicycle tools for making adjustments on your bicycle and a pump for your tires. The problem as you can see, someone with a heavy duty cable cutter has come along and stolen all of the tools.
I met Wes on the bicycle path. He started his trip in Bangor Maine and is heading to San Francisco. He is going to ride the KATY trail from St Charles, MO to Clinton, MO. As I rode the trail in 2014 I gave him some tips.
This is a Route 66 icon. Supposedly in the 1940 was the first to put a hot dog on a Popsicle stick with a corn batter and deep fry it.
one chili cheese dog and one "Cozy" dog
That is NOT a corn dog! It's a Cozy Dog 😂 I stand corrected.
