Monday 3 August

Today's ride is from Standish Hickey State Park to Fort Bragg. The campground at Standish Hickey State Park is a popular stopping place because there are two hill climbs a few miles down the road and they are much easier to tackle with fresh legs.
After cycling a few miles from the campground this sigh explains what is ahead.
The pedal up the first hill was just long. The ride started out at 800 ft and topped out a little over 1800 ft. Not to bad of a pedal provided you don't have a big load on the bike.  So you put the bike in granny gear and pedal.

At the top of the hill I met up with the kids again.
There was very heavy fog, light drizzle and upper 50's for temperature.  The ride was cooool. As you can see no one is in short sleeves.  The ride down the hill was slow because the road, very windy and wet which made for a very cautious descent.
Next to the road was this collapsed barn. Note the mailbox.
Then up and over the next hill which was not as high but it was a little steeper.  Once down the backside a picture looking back.
Now back to the ocean.

I kept seeing Turkey Vultures. I think they were waiting for me to collapse

The same group of rock formations.
I kept seeingsome of the same people along the way. You meet them one day then again  few days later.
